This sound index project sounds pretty interesting. Does IBM do tech talks at Universities? I think more people should know about some of the interesting research projects that IBM engages in. I know most PhD CSers at Purdue, if they have an eye towards industry, their primarily thinking about Google or Microsoft Research. I think part of that comes from the fact they're always doing tech talks on campus.
