Making African-American Computer Scientists Easier to Find!

The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computational Biology beginning August 2010. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Computer/Computational Science with expertise in Bioinformatics and/or Biofabrication, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain an externally-funded research program in his/her discipline. Start up funds are available, along with a shared supercomputing research core facility. Responsibilities include teaching a half released course load for the first three years (12 contact hours per semester thereafter if no external funding is established), research and professional service.

Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation (with at least one letter addressing teaching), and copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Unofficial copies are acceptable for initial the initial screening but finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.
