Questions: The black "Bill Gates" or "Steve Jobs"

(adapted from Andrew on aaphdcs mailing list)
Who in the U.S. would be considered the black "Bill Gates" or "Steve Jobs"?
That is, who is the most well known and successful software or computer entrepreneur leader in the mainstream of U.S. society? Someone who has built their company from the ground up? Any thoughts or pointers?

I agree with those already listed. I would also include the below Computer Scientist:

Paul Williams:
Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Gray Hat Research a Information Security company. Paul Williams is regarded as one of the foremost experts on secure network design in the U.S. today.

Ejovi Nuwere: Ejovi is author of HackerCracker. He is the founder and CEO of SecurityLab Technologies, which is a VOIP Security Consultancy. He is a former security consultant with prominent info security company @stake that was acquired by Symantec. He was selected as one of the top 25 entrepreneurs in 2005 by Businessweek.
